Bell Farm aims to work in partnership with parents in providing a secure and stimulating environment in which the children can develop intellectually, socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually through a range of experiences and opportunities. These take the form, of a broad, balanced and creative curriculum in which high expectations and standards are worked towards in order to support each child’s effort to achieve their full potential.
We expect a high standard of work and personal behaviour in a challenging environment that fosters co-operation, self-confidence, independence, tolerance, pride and above all, the desire to learn.
These aims are achieved by
- Acknowledging and building upon the child’s previous learning experiences
- Providing high expectation for both individual pupils and groups of pupils
- Promoting an environment in which the child feels secure, respected and able to make a valued contribution
- Making the school a secure place where rules are understood and the children know where to get help when required.
- Encouraging the development of positive learning attitudes that will provide pupils with confidence to resolve problems and to persevere with new and challenging learning opportunities.
- Providing opportunities to understand, appreciate and enjoy the multicultural world in which we live, and to celebrate its rich diversity
- Encouraging the development of skills in evaluation and interpretation, so that the child is well placed to make good judgements and reasoned responses in both their work and relationships
- Providing access and opportunity for learning through modern technology and first hand learning
- Providing an exciting range of activities that includes the requirements of the national curriculum
- Forging links with the local community, so that the school can support and reflect the needs of both parents and the area in which the school is situated
- Valuing professional development for all staff and governors to secure a learning culture for all members of the school community.
